Glasgow Central Station
Glasgow Central is the city's main rail hub and one of Scotland's busiest stations, just 7 minutes' walk from the hotel. Key services include:
• London Euston: direct services via Avanti West Coast, journey time approximately 4 hours 30 minutes.
• Edinburgh Waverley: ScotRail services available from Glasgow Central, though the journey via this route averages around 1 hour 15 minutes with only around 5 departures per day — we recommend using Queen Street for Edinburgh (see below).
• Local and regional services: Ayr, Wemyss Bay, Gourock, Paisley Canal, and across the Argyle and Cathcart lines.
The station also has a nearby stop on Bothwell Street for the Glasgow Airport Express Service 500.
Glasgow Queen Street Station
Glasgow Queen Street is approximately 7–10 minutes' walk from the hotel and is the main departure point for Scotland's east and north, including the busiest and fastest services to Edinburgh.
Key services include:
• Edinburgh Waverley: up to 5 services per hour throughout the day, with an average journey time of approximately 1 hour 13 minutes. The fastest express trains complete the journey in around 42–46 minutes. This is the recommended route for Edinburgh from the hotel.
• Stirling, Perth, Dundee, Aberdeen, and Inverness: direct ScotRail services.
• Caledonian Sleeper: overnight services to London Euston depart from Queen Street.

Glasgow Subway
Glasgow's Subway is the only underground metro system in Scotland. Its 15 stations run in a circular loop around the city's inner areas, operating 7 days a week. Trains run every 4 minutes at peak times.

• Buchanan Street Subway Station - approximately a 4-minute walk from the hotel. Ideal for connecting to Hillhead (West End, University of Glasgow) and Partick (Riverside Museum, Exhibition Centre).

Buchanan Bus Station
Buchanan Bus Station on Killermont Street is Glasgow's central hub for long-distance coach services and is approximately a 15-minute walk from the hotel, or a short taxi ride. Scottish CityLink operates services from here to Edinburgh (approximately 1 hour 15 minutes), Aberdeen, Inverness, Stirling, and destinations across Scotland. National Express also serves routes to England from Buchanan Bus Station.
Glasgow Airport
Glasgow International Airport is approximately 8 miles west of the hotel and around 15 minutes by car. The most straightforward public transport link is the Glasgow Airport Express Service 500, operated by First Bus:
• The Service 500 runs 24 hours a day, every day, with departures every 10 minutes. From Buchanan Bus Station (Stance 46), the journey to Glasgow Airport takes approximately 25–28 minutes.
• The Service 500 also stops on West Regent Street itself, close to the hotel- check the live timetable at firstbus.co.uk to confirm the current stop location.
• By car or taxi: approximately 15 minutes, traffic dependent.

The most visited free attraction in the UK outside London, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is a magnificent Spanish Baroque building set in the West End's Kelvingrove Park.
• Walking: Approximately 30 minutes from the hotel through the West End.
• Subway: Take the Subway from Buchanan Street (4-minute walk from the hotel) to Kelvinhall — the museum is a 5-minute walk from the station.
• Bus: Services 2 and 3 stop directly outside on Argyle Street, with departures from the city centre near Glasgow Central.
Glasgow's West End - Byres Road & Ashton Lane
Glasgow's West End is the city's most vibrant neighbourhood and an essential stop for any visitor. Byres Road is lined with independent cafés, bars, restaurants, and boutiques, while the cobbled lane of Ashton Lane is one of Glasgow's most atmospheric spots, packed with bars and eateries.
• Subway: Take the Subway from Buchanan Street to Hillhead — Byres Road and Ashton Lane are right outside the station.
• Walking: Approximately 35–40 minutes through the city and into the West End.
OVO Hydro & the Scottish Event Campus
On the banks of the River Clyde, the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) is one of the UK's most important live event and conference destinations. The OVO Hydro is one of Scotland's premier entertainment venues, with a capacity of over 14,000. The adjacent SEC Armadillo (the Clyde Auditorium) and SEC Centre host a complementary programme of events year-round.
• By train: Take a low-level service from Glasgow Central to Exhibition Centre station — the journey takes around 5 minutes and the OVO Hydro is a short walk from the station.
• Subway: Take the Subway to Partick, then a 15-minute walk along the riverside to the SEC.

Theatre Royal & King's Theatre
